5 Reasons to book a Studio Newborn Session

Congratulations on expecting your new baby! I’m excited you’re here and interested in learning more about a studio newborn session. Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, this time is worth documenting and preserving as beautiful artwork. As a newborn photographer of 11 years serving the Franklin, Brentwood, and greater Nashville areas, I’ve had the honor of photographing hundreds of new babies.

For the first 8 years in business, I only offered in-home newborn sessions. In fact, I never thought I’d switch to studio newborn sessions. However, after transitioning to studio sessions in 2022, I absolutely love offering this option and my clients love it too! My clients always have the choice between in-home or in studio, so today, let’s look at the top 3 reasons to book a studio newborn session.

No Cleaning Required

Hands down, the most obvious and beneficial reason to use the studio for your newborn session is that you don’t have to worry about cleaning or decluttering your home. In fact, you can basically just show up at the studio and I have everything you need. From dresses for mom to all swaddles and “props” for baby, there is nothing other than yourselves that you really need to bring for the photo session. So, save the vacuuming and dusting for another day.

Controlled Environment

In my studio, the lighting is perfect and the backdrop white and minimalistic. I’ll have the thermostat at just the perfect temperature to ensure baby is content and snoozy. With ample space and seating, you’ll be able to nurse your baby as needed and siblings can safely play when they aren’t needed for photos.

No Nursery Required

It’s more common than not that baby’s nursery isn’t ready for months after they come home. Heck, they certainly don’t really use it until about 6 months+ for many families. Or, some of my families are in a transitional home and haven’t really designed the nursery of their dreams yet. The studio is perfect in these scenarios!

Artwork Samples

Coming to the studio also allows you to see our beautiful collection of artwork available. Wall art and albums are what we’re passionate about here at KLP and you’ll be able to see and touch the many options available to you. I have found this is so appreciated by clients. The quality and craftsmanship in the artwork we offer is second to none. With over a dozen frame options and full customizable albums, every piece is truly one of a kind.

Consistency

Many of my newborn clients are also First Year Members. As we build their first year album and include photos from maternity, newborn, and multiple milestone ages, using the studio ensures a consistent and cohesive aesthetic. I also have many clients who plan to have more children in the future. Doing a studio newborn session for each baby also ensures a cohesiveness to your portraits over the years as your family grows.
