This beautiful, growing family met me at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park for their outdoor maternity photos. This was in late August, so we had the most beautiful greens and warm sunlight which created such a stunning gallery!
Why I regret skipping maternity photos
Can I share a HUGE regret with you? I did not have maternity photos done with our youngest son. I’m sure he’ll forgive me, but I still have my major regrets. Our oldest two? I have beautiful, professional maternity photos from both of their pregnancies to show them their excited, radiant, young momma as I so eagerly awaited their arrivals.
But not for our youngest and final babe. I reasoned myself out of it. I gained almost 50lbs, everything ached, my face was puffy, and I just didn’t have the time or energy to plan maternity photos. That’s often how our mind works, though, isn’t it. Focused on the here and now only instead of down the road. Which is exactly why now, I so wish I had even just one beautiful photo to remember my very last pregnancy. And exactly why I want to encourage you, mama, to take the maternity photos! Even if you don’t feel your best right now, even if its your 3rd baby or your 10th, one day, you will absolutely treasure these memories.

I share this same regret! While I was pregnant with my twins I came up with every excuse to *not* get maternity photographs taken. I wish I could go back, be kinder to myself, and invest in a photographer like you to preserve such a special season. Beautiful work, friend!

I did not get maternity photos ever. Huge regret. I have a few snapshots of me in my jammies but it’s nothing I would ever put on display. Don’t skip the photo session. Just don’t.
Kristie, this session is so stunning! I almost didn’t do maternity photos with my first and did last-minute, and am forever grateful I did. I do wish I would’ve planned it a bit more because they definitely aren’t the most timeless of images. ?
