I could share every single one of these images from this Nashville maternity session. I’ve been hanging onto my last roll of Portra 800 film for several months and this maternity session felt like just right time to finally use it. Gosh, I am so glad I did! While I also shot with my digital camera, for this blog I am sharing only my favorite film scans (thanks to Photovision film lab).
There will always be something about film that speaks to my heart more than digital. It feels so genuine and soulful. The beautiful grain, soft focus, and true colors. Learning to shoot with film has been such a rewarding journey and the more this world moves forward, in many ways, the more I feel drawn to move backwards. Counter to the current. To move slower, with more intention. Truly pouring my heart into what’s before me. That’s what shooting with film allows me to do.
